WGC Cadillac World Match Play Championship - Day One - 29/04/2015

It's all change at the World Matchplay. The tournament has a new sponsor, a new home and, most importantly of all, a new format. I have picked out a few best bets for the opening days two balls:

Matt Kuchar to beat Ben Martin (18:50 BST) @ 8/13 with Betfred.

Ben Martin has been largely inconsistent since bagging victory in the Shriners and Matt Kuchar, who has a Match Play record of 17-4, should have too much experience for the young Martin on a course which should play to his strengths.

Ryan Palmer to beat Anirban Lahiri (18:00 BST) @ 8/15 with Coral.

Anirban Lahiri has really struggled to get to grips with the PGA Tour thus far and Ryan Palmer should have no problems getting his Match Play off to a perfect start. The Texan has three top ten finishes in his last seven tournaments, including a great second at the Phoenix Open.

Paul Casey to beat Chris Kirk (22:20 BST) @ 4/6 with Coral and Stan James.

Paul Casey is coming to the boil nicely and is overdue a win. With four top ten's in his last six starts, including an impressive sixth at the Masters, it's easy to see Casey having too much for Chris Kirk who has struggled to bring his A-game to the table since his strong finish to last season.

Bernd Wiesberger to beat Jamie Donaldson (19:40 BST) @ evens with various bookmakers.

Jamie Donaldson has been struggling with his scoring for a while. He's consistent enough but doesn't give himself too many birdie opportunities and, when he does, his putting often lets him down. Bernd Wiesberger can take advantage of Donaldson's lack of scoring. The Austrian has hardly been prolific on the PGA tour himself, but he won't get a better opportunity to get off to a great start in the Match Play.

Best of luck!
