Betway Premier League Darts 2015, Week 13 - 30/04/2015

Betway Premier League Darts 2015 hits Birmigham tonight and I have three best bets up:

Dave Chisnall to beat Adrian Lewis @ 13/8 with Bet Victor.

Dave Chisnall has posted four straight 100+ averages in the Premier a League. He is practically assured of a spot in the playoffs and has the perfect opportunity to punch his ticket tonight against Adrian Lewis who, in my opinion, never really looks up for the fight in the Premier League. He's only made the playoffs twice in seven attempts and that is simply not good enough for a player of his class. The short format, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to suit his game and despite the fact his form has picked up and he's given himself every chance of qualifying, his averages have been hovering around the mid to high 90's and could be overwhelmed by the scoring power of Chisnal.

Raymond van Barneveld to beat Gary Anderson @ 12/5 with Bet365.

What could have been a disasterous week for the Flying Scotsman turned out to be a pretty good one. Anderson put in the most abject display of darts I have seen from him in many a year against Stephen Bunting last week and came out later in the night to blitz a Michael van Gerwen at the top of his game. Anderson, however, has openly confessed he is struggling to get match practice in and he's just not feeling up for,it at this current time. It was the same story for RVB several weeks ago. He was questioning his attitude, whether he belongs with the elite anymore and looked seriously ready to pack it all in. Fast forward a few weeks and Barney hasn't looked back. Three gutsy victories on the spin against Taylor, MVG and Chisnal have given him all the confidence in the world that he can retain his crown. He's well overpriced at 12/5 to see off Anderson.

James Wade vs Stephen Bunting - under 4.5 match 180's @ 6/5 with Bet Victor.

I look at this match with a sense of dread. James Wade looks a shadow of his formal self and a terrible run of form have seen his playoff chances all but evaporate. The problem for the Machine has been his scoring. All too often the first dart his the treble 20, but the other two fail to follow it in. He can't even call upon his trademark quality finishing because he's not scoring enough to give himself any chances. This was summed up in his drubbing by MVG last week when, not only did he not win a leg, he didn't even get one dart at a double. Bunting can score very well, but he has also been struggling to get all three darts into the red bit. His third dart is often snatched and I think under 4.5 180's in this match looks a solid bet.

WGC Cadillac World Match Play Championship - Day One - 29/04/2015

It's all change at the World Matchplay. The tournament has a new sponsor, a new home and, most importantly of all, a new format. I have picked out a few best bets for the opening days two balls:

Matt Kuchar to beat Ben Martin (18:50 BST) @ 8/13 with Betfred.

Ben Martin has been largely inconsistent since bagging victory in the Shriners and Matt Kuchar, who has a Match Play record of 17-4, should have too much experience for the young Martin on a course which should play to his strengths.

Ryan Palmer to beat Anirban Lahiri (18:00 BST) @ 8/15 with Coral.

Anirban Lahiri has really struggled to get to grips with the PGA Tour thus far and Ryan Palmer should have no problems getting his Match Play off to a perfect start. The Texan has three top ten finishes in his last seven tournaments, including a great second at the Phoenix Open.

Paul Casey to beat Chris Kirk (22:20 BST) @ 4/6 with Coral and Stan James.

Paul Casey is coming to the boil nicely and is overdue a win. With four top ten's in his last six starts, including an impressive sixth at the Masters, it's easy to see Casey having too much for Chris Kirk who has struggled to bring his A-game to the table since his strong finish to last season.

Bernd Wiesberger to beat Jamie Donaldson (19:40 BST) @ evens with various bookmakers.

Jamie Donaldson has been struggling with his scoring for a while. He's consistent enough but doesn't give himself too many birdie opportunities and, when he does, his putting often lets him down. Bernd Wiesberger can take advantage of Donaldson's lack of scoring. The Austrian has hardly been prolific on the PGA tour himself, but he won't get a better opportunity to get off to a great start in the Match Play.

Best of luck!

Hull vs Liverpool - 28/04/2015 - 7:45pm

After going all season with just two away wins (1-0 at QPR on the opening day and 3-1 at Sunderland on Boxing Day), even the most optimistic of Hull City fans would have been struggling to get too excited over their trip to Crystal Palace. However, Hull put in a determined display against a Palace side who looked as if their minds were focussed on planning their summer holidays. Alan Pardew was quick to bemoan some decisions by referee Mark Clattenburg, but they were outshot 21-7 and failed to register a single corner, so few could have argued about the 2-0 victory for Hull, as they appeared to want and need it just that little bit more.

Liverpool blew a great chance at the weekend to put pressure on Manchester United for all important fourth spot. They couldn't break down a resilient West Brom and missed the opportunity to close to within five points of the Red Devil's with a game in hand. Now the task is looking increasingly difficult and the news that Daniel Sturridge may not play again this season will come as a bitter blow, as he is their only real quality option to lead the line. It's also fair to say Liverpool's performances have been poor since their painful 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United a little over a month ago and this is a critical fixture if they are to cling onto any hope of a top four spot.

Liverpool have a great record against Hull over the years, but the Tigers did win this corresponding fixture 3-1 last season against a Liverpool side with Luis Suarez at the peak of his powers. I expect more of the same from Hull tonight. Liverpool play some good football, but they are increasingly toothless at times and the shrewd Steve Bruce will know how to set his team up to nullify an attacking Liverpool who rarely have a plan B.

My advice would be to back Hull to win the match at 10/3 with Betfred, with a smaller wager on Hull/Hull on the HT/FT market at 13/2 with various bookmakers, as I expect Hull to do their best work early, establish a lead and hold off a later Liverpool surge.

Hull to beat Liverpool @ 10/3 - 3pts win with Betfred
Hull/Hull - HT/FT @ 13/2 - 1pt win with various bookmakers.
